Long Pham, PEWESTMINSTER, California - Trong một bản thông báo, Kỹ-sư Tiến Sĩ Phạm Kim Long cho biết hội Người Mỹ Gốc Á Châu (Asian Americans for Good Government) ngày hôm nay vừa chính thức thông báo UCV Long Phạm là một trong các ứng cử viên vào các chức vụ dân biểu liên bang và tiểu bang Hoa Kỳ mà họ lựa chọn ủng hộ trong cuộc bầu cử năm 2012.

Trong email riêng với chúng tôi, Ts. Phạm Kim Long chia sẻ “Với niềm hãnh diện của một ứng cử viên gốc Việt đơn thương độc mã và thường được xem là mồ côi, chúng tôi xin chia sẻ tin vui này và kính mong qúy vị nhắc nhở các thân hữu trong hàng ngũ những người quốc gia không chấp nhận cộng sản nhắc nhở nhau đi bầu ngày 5 tháng 6, để hy vọng cuối năm nay chúng ta sẽ có một dân cử gốc Việt trong quốc hội tiểu bang California.”

Paul Fong (Dem)  - running for re-election to a 3rd term, but in the new 28th AD in the Silicon Valley/San Jose area.  Paul is serving in his 2nd term in the Assembly.  Paul is a longtime activist and leader in the API community, having helped found Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) and the Silicon Valley Asian Pacific American Democratic Club.  He has mentored numerous young API's into political activism and elected office. www.paulfong.com

Mariko Yamada (Dem) - is running for re-election but also in a new district, AD 4 which covers Yolo, Sonoma, Napa, Lake Solano and Colusa Counties.  Mariko currently represents AD 8, and prior to her election to the Asemmbly, she served as Yolo County Supervisor and District Director for former Yolo County Supervisor David Rosenberg.  She has consistently fought for civil rights and mental health and health issues for the API community. www.marikoyamada.net

Peter Tateishi (Rep) - is Chief of Staff to Congressman Dan Lungren and is running for AD 8 in the Elk Grove area.  Peter has served on his City's Parks Board and on the Planning Commission.  He was instrumental in getting Cong. Lungren to co-sponsor Cong. Judy Chu's H. Res 282 which expresses a sense of regret for the Chinese Exclusion Act. www.peterforassembly.com

Phil Ting (Dem) - the current the San Francisco City Assessor-Recorder, he is running in AD 19 in the San Francisco area. Prior to his role as City Assessor, Phil was the Executive Director of the Asian Law Caucus.  He was also President of the SF Bay Chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) and founded ChinaSF which has attracted new businesses to San Francisco and stimulated the local economy. www.philting.com

Jennifer Ong(Dem) - is an optometrist running for AD 20 in the Alameda County Area.  Jennifer has been a trustee on the CA Optometric Association, and on the Executive Board of the State Government Relations of the American Optometric Association.  She also serves as the Vice President of the APA Democratic Caucus of Alameda County, Co-Founder and Secretary of the Filipino American Democratic Club of Alameda County, and was Boardmember of the Filipina Women's Network. She also founded the Hepatitis B Free Campaign for Alameda County.  www.drjenniferong.org

Rob Bonta (Dem) - Rob is the Vice Mayor of the City of Alameda and Deputy City Attorney for the City Attorney's Office in San Francisco.  He is running in AD 18, in the Alameda/Oakland area.  Prior to his service on the Alameda City Council, Rob served on the Alameda Health Care District Board of Directors and chaired the City of Alameda's Economic Development commission where he focused on business attraction and retention. www.robbonta.com

Long Pham (Rep)  - running for the 72nd District in Orange County.  He is a nuclear engineer and member of the Orange County Board of Education.  He has a long history of working with the Vietnamese American community, and has worked to provide quality educational opportunities for API'swww.phamforassembly.com

Al Muratsuchi (Dem)- running for the 66th A D, in the Torrance area of Southern California.  Al is currently a Deputy Attorney General and Torrance Unified School Boardmember.  He has a long history of activism with the Asian Law Caucus and Japanese American Citizens League (JACL). www.alforassembly.com

AAGG Endorsed Candidates for U.S. Congress:

Mike Honda (Dem) - running for re-election but in a new district – CD 17.  Mike has a long history of elected service - 11 years in Congress and prior to that in the California State Assembly, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and San Jose Unified School Board.  Mike has chaired the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC). Mike has also fought for healthcare, education, immigration reform and has been a mentor to many API's seeking elected and appointed offices.  www.mikehonda.com

Otto Lee (Dem) - is running for CD 22 in the San Joaquin Valley.  Otto is a patent attorney with his own practice and previously served two terms on the Sunnyvale City Council in Silicon Valley.  Otto has served on the AAGG board for several years as well as on the National League of Cities Asian Pacific American Municipal Officers' Board and President of the Silicon Valley Asian Pacific American Democratic Club.

Blong Xiong (Dem) - is a Fresno City Councilmember running for CD 21 in the Fresno area.  Blong has a long record of community organizing and works as deputy Director of the Center for New Americans, assisting immigrants and refugees in transitioning to their new homes in the Central Valley. Blong also serves on the CA State API Commission and is its current Chair.  www.blongforcongress.com

Jay Chen(Dem) - running for the 39th CD, in the Hacienda Heights area of Southern CA.  Jay is a small business owner, a navy reservist and serves on the Hacienda-La Puente School Board. Jay has been a strong supporter of APAPA, CAUSE and APAICS.  www.chenforcongress.com

Mark Takano (Dem) - is running for the newly created 41st CD in the Riverside area of Southern California.  Mark is a high school English teacher and Trustee of the Riverside Community College District where he has served for 20 years. Mark has been a longtime political activist and served as API Caucus Chair for the California Democratic Party.
